Prasoon, an accomplished figure in India, serves as a poet, writer, lyricist, screenwriter, communication specialist, and marketer. He currently holds the position of CEO at McCann World Group India and serves as the Chairman of APAC (Asia Pacific), a subsidiary of the global marketing firm McCann Erickson. Additionally, he assumed the role of Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification on 11 August 2017.

Acknowledged for his outstanding contributions, Prasoon has been honored with the Filmfare Best Lyricist Award three times – in 2007, 2008, and 2014 for the Hindi movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Furthermore, he has been a recipient of the National Film Award for Best Lyrics twice, recognizing his work in Taare Zameen Par (2007) and Chittagong (2013). The Government of India conferred upon him the Padma Shri in 2015 for his noteworthy contributions to Arts, Literature, and Advertising.

Prasoon actively participates in cultural and historical initiatives, holding positions such as a trustee of IGNCA, a member of the Nehru Memorial Museum & Library Society Panel, and a part of the National Committee for Commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, which consists of only 120 select members.
